Cph:architectureCopenhagen is a city of paradoxes – big enough to call itself a metropolis, yet small enough to have a cozy atmosphere. Its history dates back to 1104, yet the visions of modern innovative architects like Arne Jacobsen also influences the cityscape.
On our architectural walk you will see the great buildings of both old and new masters, while walking through the most interesting and beautiful parts of the city. We will see the powerful Royal Library, also known as the Black Diamond. On our way to the historic neighbourhood of Christianshavn we will have a look at the New Opera House as well as the iconic functionalistic Knippelsbro from 1935 and the smooth corporate head quarter of Nordea, designed by Henning Larsen. We end the tour near Christiania and The Danish Center for Architecture; both very interesting attractions each in their own way. The ArchiTour is not only for achitecture afficinados, but also a very nice way of experiencing Copenhagen and getting a geographic and historic overview of the urban transformations of the city.
